23. John⁶ Stapleton (George⁵, George⁴, Robert³, Jeremiah², John¹) was born Fineshade, Rutland 20th July 1816. John died 13th June 1879 Uppingham (Fineshade?), at 62 years of age. His body was interred 1879 Wakerley.

He married Lucy Stanger Wakerley, Rutland, 11 January 1837. Lucy was born Exton, Rutland c 1819. Lucy was the daughter of John Stanger and Lucy Newbold. Lucy died September 1902 Uppingham, at 83 years of age.

John Stapleton and Lucy Stanger had the following children:

27 i. Mary Ann⁷ Stapleton was born 1837. Her body was interred 14th February 1905 Morcott, Rutland. She married John Dalby Morcott, Rutland, 4th August 1859. John was born 14th February 1819. John was the son of Thomas Dalby and Ann Frisby. His body was interred 20th March 1885 Morcott, Rutland.

28 ii. Lucy Elizabeth Stapleton was born Duddington, Northants c1838.

+ 29 iii. Fanny Mahalah Stapleton was born March 1840.

30 iv. Emma Eliza Stapleton was born Fineshade, Northamptonshire 1843. Emma died 1910 Workhouse Infirmary, Kingston, at 67 years of age. Her body was interred 21st May 1910 Kingston upon Thames. She married Edwin James Stone Townsend St Lukes Chelsea London, 13th July 1863. Edwin was born Trowbridge Wiltshire 31st October 1840. Edwin was the son of James Davis Townsend and Esther Mary Stone. Edwin died 16th March 1896 33 Glebe Place, S Chelsea, at 55 years of age. His body was interred 20th March 1896 Brompton Cemetery. (See Edwin James Stone Townsend for the continuation of this line.)

31 v. William Stapleton was born Fineshade, Northampton 1846. William died 7th December, 1915 Fineshade?, at 69 years of age. He married Sarah Moisey Uppingham district, December 1884. Sarah was born Kings Cliffe, Northamptonshire 1848. Sarah died 7th October 1922 at 74 years of age.

+ 32 vi. John James Stapleton was born 1851.

33 vii. Anna Amelia Stapleton was born 1853. Her body was interred 29th April 1857 Wakerley, Northants.

34 viii. Annie Amelia Stapleton was born 1858. Her body was interred 15th May 1859 Wakerley, Northants.
